When we think of the 4th of July, many of us think of fireworks shows, BBQ’s and family gatherings. While it is still possible that in some place’s things may look different it is important to remember that we can still celebrate the best of the summer – even while physically distancing and in some places still wearing a mask where required. Though the later seems to be almost obsolete now.
Are you struggling to figure out exactly what to do for the holiday this year?
Keep in mind that even if fireworks, hot dogs, and parades are not quite your thing, the holiday is a nice excuse to slow down, relax, and make a solid effort to spend quality time with your family and friends. Something as simple as a backyard picnic, sitting at the beach with a juicy book, or a nice hike can be as memorable! If you are still struggling to schedule something for the July holiday, here are a few options:
Go camping (even if you are too late to make a reservation) your back yard can become your camping spot! Do not forget the smores!
Make your own water park in your back yard. Beat the heat instead of it beating you! Don’t forget your beverages~
If hosting a get together have a hot dog eating contest! Have everyone bring a desert that is red, white, and blue.
Go for a bike ride with friends and do a picnic afterwards!
Go to the lake or beach and just relax. Sometimes less is more.
Find a parade!
Lastly remember why we celebrate the 4th of July~
July 4th marks the day the United States officially became its own nation. The Declaration of Independence was adopted on July 4th, 1776—and thus, America was born. It is America’s birthday!
Have a Happy & Safe 4th of July from all of us at INA!
